Soft and sweet. Toasted coconut and hazelnut with just a hint of citrus. Exceptionally smooth in the finish.

"Deep-toned, chocolaty and rich. Dark chocolate, strawberry guava, hazelnut butter, sandalwood, ginger blossom in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned structure with round, engaging acidity; full, syrupy mouthfeel. Crisply sweet, long finish with notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut and sandalwood."

Background Info

Our interpretation of the Classic Kona coffee. Our 2023 Kona Classic Medium is a blend of Washed and Honey Typica variety coffees from Aloha Star farm that showcases the soft and sweet profile Kona is known for, supported by a buoyant acidity and complexity that few exhibit.

Aloha Star Farm

Aloha Star farm is located in the Honomalino Acres subdivision, in South Kona, on the Big Island of Hawai'i The farm is 13 acres, which stands between 1,900 to 2,000 feet above sea level. Armando and Karina Rodriguez purchased the property in 2004, which was at the time a macadamia nut orchard.  In 2013, after almost ten years of traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to Hawaii to take care of the macadamia nuts orchard, Armando left the management of his small construction company to his brother, and the family moved to the farm and began planting coffee. Starting with 200 trees given to them by Godofredo and Matilde Miranda, a couple from El Salvador who have been coffee farmers here on the Big Island for several years. They have continued planting more trees every year, most of them developed from seeds. Currently have 8,000+ trees planted, mostly of Typica, but with many new varieties in their nursery. 

Aloha Star has built an impressive reputation for quality, placing in the top 10 of the Kona coffee festival cupping competition for the past 4 years. Truly producing one of the best examples of the classic Kona cup that can be found.
