Soft and sweet. Plum, Toasted coconut and dark chocolate with just a hint of citrus. Exceptionally smooth in the finish.
Our final feature from the 2020 harvest at Black Rock Farm is the most traditional. We took ripe selected cherries to be processed at a neighboring mill using the method that is most common in Kona. Mechanically scrubbing off most of the fruit and then over-night fermentation without water to remove the remaining fruit followed by sun drying on covered rooftop drying patios known as Hoshidana.
Taken to a medium-dark roast to represent the quintessential Kona profile most tourists experience when they visit Hawaii but with the complexity and smoothness that comes from a level of meticulous cherry selection uncommon in the region.
Black Rock Farm is a 10 acre farm overlooking Kealakekua Bay at 1200-1400ft elevation we help to manage. Sweet, soft and Chocolatey. A wonderful coffee to enjoy on the patio looking out on the ocean in the morning.

"Deep-toned, chocolaty and rich. Dark chocolate, strawberry guava, hazelnut butter, sandalwood, ginger blossom in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned structure with round, engaging acidity; full, syrupy mouthfeel. Crisply sweet, long finish with notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut and sandalwood."
