Like you, we’re coffee lovers on a journey. We’ve tasted different types, brewed in different ways, and shared our favorites with our people. Like you, we work hard to enjoy what we do and have learned that details make the difference. Especially when it comes to coffee.

Our specialty coffees have been rated 93 - 97 points by Coffee Review on over sixty occasions since 2002 (and more to come). We curate with an emphasis on distinction, seasonality, and emerging origins. As often as possible our coffees are purchased direct from the farmer and sustainably grown. And all Paradise coffees are roasted to order.

We’re delighted that you discovered us and that we can share this taste of Paradise with you: fresh roasted coffees from exceptional farmers around the globe.

Roasting in Minnesota and on the Big Island of Hawai'i

Our Origins

Kelleigh Stewart

Co-owner, Creative & Communications

Kelleigh is a certified Arabica Q Grader. Her coffee story began when she and Brandon moved to an overgrown Hawaiian coffee farm and spent several years reviving the trees, to eventually found the boutique mill & roasterie, Big Island Coffee Roasters. Today she is as steeped in coffee as one could hope to be: harvesting, processing, roasting, cupping & writing on coffee. She believes great coffee begins not with special locations or exotic cultivars, but with attentive harvesting and processing. In other words, with the right care almost any coffee can become exceptional.

Brandon Damitz

Co-owner, Coffee Tech & Development

Self-described "liaison between the plant world and human world", Brandon didn't think he was passionate about coffee until he found a great deal on a Hawaiian coffee farm on Craigslist in 2010. Since then, he's been deeply intrigued with the craft of producing memorable and enriching sensory experiences. When he's not farming, processing, roasting or cupping coffee, Brandon loves outdoor activities and pondering the next adventure with Kelleigh.

Miguel Meza

Co-owner, Coffee Quality Director

Miguel began his love affair with coffee more than 20 years ago at the age of 13. In 2002, along with his family, he founded Paradise Coffee Roasters. Since 2008, he has been living in Hawaii working with coffee at the farm level to better understand coffee quality and uses this experience to help growers around the world improve their coffee. In addition to coffee he is a lover of all food and drink, with a particular fondness of Japanese whiskeys, ceviche, sashimi, and all manner of noodle dishes. When he isn't working with coffee he can often be found hiking the endless trails of Volcanoes National Park with his wife Chizui.

Shiva

Director of Guest Entertainment

Shiva has been interested in coffee since he was discovered on a box on the side of the road. Although he's not particularly fond of coffee as a beverage, he is an expert at patrolling the coffee fields and assessing the texture of old, used burlap bags. He enjoys flaunting himself to guests as they are waiting to pick up their coffees, and has taken the art of snuggling to a new level.

Sam LeTendre

Lead Roaster

Samantha first took an interest in specialty coffee while living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She started working at a coffee shop in the Milwaukee Art Museum run by a local coffee roaster. As a barista, she learned a lot about the skill and care that goes into preparing coffee. That is what drove her love for the specialty coffee culture. She moved to Minneapolis in 2013 and went on to manage a local coffee shop for two years. In 2015 Samantha joined the Paradise Roasters team. In addition to Samantha’s passion for coffee, she is a runner, cyclist, and artist.

Brianna Chies

Production Assistant

Back in 2004, Bree’s love for specialty coffee began as a barista at River Rock Coffee in St. Peter, MN.  This sparked an eight and a half year career working in the coffee industry as a barista with the latter half of that time also spent as a part-time roaster. While she took a hiatus from the coffee industry for a bit, she never gave up her passion for coffee and was delighted to jump in again as part of the Paradise team in the fall of 2016.

Bree is also a visual artist and a part-time usher at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis. She spends her free time reading, watching movies, dancing, traveling, and agonizing over Minnesota professional sports teams.
