We thought we would make something fun for the fall. Introducing Kona Pumpkin Spice Anaerobic!
Harvested at Black Rock farms in Kona, a recently planted 10 acre coffee farm overlooking Kealakekua bay.
Our own Miguel Meza manages the farm and processed this small batch. The coffee was fermented anaerobically with the addition of Cinnamon, Ginger, and Nutmeg. The oxygen free fermentation environment slows down the fermentation and allows for more contact time with the spices so the seeds can absorb some of their essence.
The fragrance of Cinnamon lends a unique character to this coffee, which mixes with notes of brown sugar, red fruits, and ginger in the cup.
First roast next Tuesday October 15th.
The result is a quite unique profile of coffee. vibrant and sweet with a noticeable spiciness that is usually not found in coffee.
