Tasting Notes

A pleasantly fruited cup. Grapefruit and strawberry in the aroma. Light mouthfeel with a refreshingly tart acidity. Strawberry fades to watermelon and cocoa in the finish.

Background Info

Our first offering from Mexico in several years, we were excited to have a chance to work with a young Producer -Maribel Meza making some great coffees in Tenejapa, Chiapas. Her family grows Caturra, Typica, Mundo Novo, Garnica, and Marsellesa varieties on 3 hectares at 1685-1800m.

She produces many styles of coffees, but the natural was one that really stood out to us on the cupping table.

After harvesting the cherries they are floated in water and low density fruits are skimmed off before being put to dry on raised beds.
