The Pinnacle of Kaʻū Coffee

The Kaʻū district has rapidly established itself as one of Hawaiʻi's most exciting coffee-growing regions. High on the southern slopes of Mauna Loa, cool nights, volcanic soils, and steady Pacific trade winds produce coffees with exceptional sweetness, clarity, and complexity.

This remarkable Geisha comes from Miranda Farms, one of Kaʻū's most respected producers. Harvested in January 2026, this lot represents the culmination of years of refinement in both cultivation and processing.

Its quality was recognized with 1st Place in the 2026 Best of Hawaiʻi Cupping Competition, establishing it as the highest-ranked coffee in the state this harvest.

Character & Style: Tropical Elegance

This is a Geisha that combines expressive fruit with remarkable balance.

Bright aromas lead into vibrant flavors of starfruit, mixed berries, and lemon-lime candy, carried by a silky body and lively acidity. Despite the anaerobic fermentation, the cup remains remarkably clean, allowing the Geisha variety and Kaʻū terroir to remain at center stage.

The finish is long, floral, and refreshing—layering tropical sweetness over refined citrus and delicate aromatics.

Acclaim

1st Place — Best of Hawaiʻi Cupping Competition 2026

Awarded the highest honor at Hawaiʻi's premier coffee quality competition, recognizing this lot as one of the finest coffees produced anywhere in the islands during the 2026 harvest.

96 Points — Coffee Review

Following in the footsteps of Miranda Farms' previous award-winning Geishas, this anaerobic natural also earned an outstanding 96-point rating from Coffee Review, placing it among the world's highest-rated coffees.

Craft & Process: Anaerobic Natural

For this lot, perfectly ripe cherries were sealed in oxygen-free fermentation tanks, allowing fermentation to proceed slowly under carefully controlled conditions before drying as a natural.

The anaerobic process amplifies sweetness and fruit complexity while preserving the elegance of the Geisha variety. Rather than dominating the cup, the fermentation contributes additional layers of tropical fruit and vibrant aromatics while maintaining exceptional clarity.

The result is a coffee that is expressive, dynamic, and unmistakably Geisha.

Miranda Farms

Miranda Farms has become one of the defining producers of modern Hawaiian specialty coffee. Their meticulous approach to farming and willingness to explore innovative processing techniques have helped place Kaʻū among the world's emerging premium coffee origins.

Over the years, Paradise Coffee Roasters has worked closely with Miranda Farms to showcase some of Hawaiʻi's most exceptional coffees, including multiple Coffee Review award winners and competition-winning Geisha lots. This 2026 Best of Hawaiʻi champion continues that tradition.

A Moment of Paradise

Best brewed as a pour-over or delicate immersion to highlight its layered aromatics and crystalline fruit character. Allow the coffee to cool as the tropical fruit and floral notes continue to unfold.

This is a coffee to linger over—an expression of what Kaʻū Geisha can achieve at its highest level.

What Is 100% Kona Coffee?

100% Kona coffee refers to coffee grown exclusively in the Kona district of Hawai‘i Island — a small, volcanic region
along the western slopes of Hualālai and Mauna Loa. The combination of mineral-rich soil, afternoon cloud cover, and gentle trade winds produces one of the world’s most distinctive coffee terroirs.

To be labeled “100% Kona Coffee,” every bean must be grown within the Kona district and meet strict Hawai‘i grading quality standards. Kona coffee can be made from different arabica varieties, but Kona Typica — a heirloom lineage — remains the region’s most common and traditional cultivar.
