Background Info

Coffee has been grown in the Yunnan Province of China since the 19th century. And production here has really taken off in the past 2 decades. Most of which is consumed in country. Production in the area is very volume focused and the cool wet weather of the harvest season makes this a challenging region to process coffee in.

in the last 2-3 years many mills have started to put a focus on producing better quality coffees, and with great results.

The Lafu washing station is run by Li Jiangrong in Menglien, not far from the border of Myanmar. Cherries are collected from farms up to 1600m altitude. Incredibly high for the area's northernly latitude that no doubt contributes to their coffees exceptional acidity. The coffee in dry fermented over night and then dried on concrete patios for around 10 days.
