Tasting Notes

Blueberry cobbler in a cappuccino. Blueberry, spice, sandalwood, and grapefruit notes make this intensely aromatic single origin espresso an exceptional base for steamed dairy.

Background Info

The Kiangoi Factory is operated by the Rung-eto Cooperative Society. The factory processes cherry from cooperative members from throughout the Kirinyaga area using water from the Kambuku river, not far from snowcapped Mt Kenya.

Like many Kenyan coffees, this one includes the exceptionally fragrant cultivars SL28 and SL34, both of which tend to express a range of berry and citrus qualities depending on where they are grown. You'll find that our Kenya Kiangoi leans much more towards blueberry than blackberry.

We've selected this coffee for it's strong aromatics, which cuts right through steamed dairy. Those who enjoyed the fruit forward nature of our East Timor Ermera lot earlier this year will find plenty to love about this coffee. But don't stop at espresso; it's versatile enough for filter as well.
