Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chele'lektu
Our most aromatic SO espresso to date. We first experienced it as a straight shot while working on our Havana blend: it pulls dense, creamy, and floral - sweetened by milk. Notes of blueberry, vanilla, lavender and milk chocolate permeate throughout. It's dessert in a demitasse.
Tucked in a hillside, surrounded by jungle, you wouldn't even know it's there: the Chele'lektu washing station.
Known for their typical Yirgacheffe profile – dazzling fruit and soft floral aromatics - coffees from Chele'lektu are widely regarded as some of the highest quality Africans. In part, this is thanks to the meticulous processing at the Chele'lektu washing station. The beans are first fermented to clean the sticky-sweet mucilage from the parchment skin, then beans are washed in waterways with clean spring water, next sun-dried on raised beds, and, finally, hand-sorted.
