Background Info

Java is an origin so synonymous with coffee production we often still call coffee a 'cup of Java'. Although, truly excellent coffees from this region have been rare in recent times.

Most Java coffee comes from large government-owned estates in East Java. These typically have a classic island profile: soft, nutty, pleasant, yet forgettable. But delightful things are happening in Western Java, where small-holder coffee producers, like the Klasik Beans Cooperative, have focused on producing specialty-grade, excellent quality coffees.

Our Java Cimulek micro-lot is farmed in a mountainous region around the beautiful city of Bandung in West Java. Their fresh coffee cherries are harvested fully red ripe and pulped in small batches. Fermented overnight and washed clean, the parchment is dried on raised beds in bamboo greenhouses. 

What makes this Java unusual is its full-bodied texture and bright vibrant flavors. This may be the first real 'cup of Java' you've ever had.
