Ecuador Pichincha Typica

Although Ecuador is a relatively small coffee producer, what they lack in size they make up for in quality. The traditional growing area is Loja, which in the south near Peru. But it's the smaller, newer region of Pichincha, not far south from Narino, Colombia, where some truly stunning coffees have been produced recently. Much of the coffee in this area are Caturra or Typica selections, but a few growers produce Bourbon and Bourbon Sidra as well. This lot is produced from Typica Mejorado, an improved pure-line selection of typica developed at a nearby research farm that used to be in the Pichincha area.
