Tasting Notes

Buoyant and complex with fragrant wisps of jasmine, apple and brown sugar, and flavors of caramel, plum, and strawberry. A refreshingly rich Colombian coffee, whether it's hot or iced.

Background Info

Nariño is the southern most province of Colombia, bordering Ecuador.  Situated just one degree north of the equator, Nariño has some of the highest growing altitudes in Colombia with farms planted above 2100 meters, or 6800 feet. At this elevation the heirloom Typica coffees seem to develop a richer floral character and livelier cup. Quite honestly, it's a quality that is difficult to describe using taste alone. Like the morning air in a mountain forest, it's both satisfying and invigorating - inviting quiet contemplation.

Duende, translated from Spanish, is the feeling of awe and inspiration one has when standing in nature... an overwhelming sense of beauty.
