Includes 2 lb green, unroasted coffee

Background Info

Gonzalo Hernandez likes to brag that he’s amassed the world’s largest private collection of coffees trees: more than two hundred species, botanical varieties, mutations and cultivars that grow on his exotic Costa Rican “coffee garden”, Coffea Diversa. His collection includes some of the rarest in the world -- coffees many have neither heard of nor tasted.

Of each variety Gonzalo has only a few trees, and his coffees are sold in small 10 kilo bags to knowledgeable roasters and friends around the world, first come, first serve. We first visited Coffea diversa and met Gonzalo five years ago, and we’ve been looking forward to sharing these ever since.

Of his collection, we’ve selected two varieties for you to savor and enjoy: Cera and Dilla Alghe -- all honey processed.

Cera is yet another exotic and rare mutation of bourbon, but where the plants produce yellow beans instead of green seeds.

Tasting notes: orange, Berry, grape candy, heavy/low toned cup

Dilla Alghe is a wild coffee originating near the town of Dilla Alghe in the southwestern region of Ethiopia. Young leaves show a reddish color and production is very low, which explains why Dilla Alghe is a rare coffee to taste.

Tasting notes: tropical fruit, nutty, chocolate, berry, balanced
