And when poorly done - as many Sumatran coffees are - it can leave the coffee tasting flat, musty and rancid.  This coffee however is a dry-hulled coffee, similar to coffees from most other origins such as Central America and Colombia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a result the flavor profile is much different than what one usually expects from Sumatra. Cleaner, sweeter, more transparent in its flavors. This coffee comes from Gayo in Northern Sumatra. \u003cspan\u003eProcessed at the MKG mill operated by Asman Ariento. Cherry is collected from small growers in the surrounding Pantan Musara area at 1500-1600m elevation. These coffees are fermented overnight and then dried on a combination of green house covered \u003c\/span\u003eraised drying beds and patios. Asman has been doing great work showing a completely different spectrum of flavors from this Origin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn Cup of Excellence's recent cupping competition, the 2019 Sumatra Prestige cup his entries took 3rd and 5th place.
