A classic washed Kona Geisha that highlights purity, sweetness, and the unique character of Hawaiʻi.

Not every Geisha needs dramatic fermentation to be memorable.

Our Kona Geisha from Namvar Estate is built around transparency—allowing the variety, the volcanic soils of Kona, and careful washed processing to take center stage. The result is a remarkably clean and elegant cup with vibrant citrus, refined sweetness, and a silky finish.

This is Hawaiian Geisha at its most classic.

Origin & Elevation: Namvar Estate, Kona

Namvar Estate is located on the slopes of Hualālai in Kona, where rich volcanic soils, warm sunny mornings, cool afternoon cloud cover, and steady ocean breezes create ideal conditions for producing exceptional coffee.

Although Kona sits at lower elevations than many famous Geisha-producing regions, its mild temperatures and slow cherry maturation allow sugars and aromatic compounds to develop gradually. The result is a cup with remarkable balance, sweetness, and clarity that is distinctly Hawaiian.

Over the past decade, Kona has quietly emerged as one of the world's most exciting regions for Geisha production, regularly producing coffees capable of competing with the finest lots from Panama and beyond.

Character & Style: Pure Kona Elegance

This is a washed Geisha that emphasizes refinement over intensity.

Fresh lime provides bright, lively acidity while soft caramel sweetness adds warmth and depth. Notes of ripe tangerine linger through a long, clean finish, supported by delicate floral aromatics and a silky, tea-like body.

Everything feels effortless and composed—a coffee with tremendous precision rather than excess.

Washed Processing

After harvest, ripe cherries are selectively hand-picked and carefully washed to remove the fruit before drying.

The washed process preserves the intrinsic qualities of the Geisha variety, highlighting floral aromatics, sparkling citrus acidity, and exceptional transparency in the cup. Rather than contributing fermentation-driven flavors, the process allows the terroir of Kona and the elegance of Geisha to speak clearly.

Our light roast is designed to preserve:

  • Bright citrus character
  • Floral aromatics
  • Silky texture
  • Transparent sweetness
  • Long, clean finish

Paradise & Kona Geisha

Paradise Coffee Roasters has spent more than fifteen years exploring the potential of Hawaiian Geisha.

Working directly with pioneering Kona growers, we've helped develop processing techniques, evaluated experimental lots, and showcased many of Hawaiʻi's highest-scoring coffees. Our goal has always been simple: express each farm's unique character while roasting with restraint and precision.

Namvar Estate continues that tradition with a beautifully clean expression of Kona Geisha.

A Moment of Paradise

Brew as a pour-over or with a gentle immersion method to fully appreciate its elegant aromatics and crystalline sweetness.

This is a coffee that rewards slow brewing and careful attention—revealing new layers of citrus and sweetness as it cools.

What Is 100% Kona Coffee?

100% Kona coffee refers to coffee grown exclusively in the Kona district of Hawai‘i Island — a small, volcanic region
along the western slopes of Hualālai and Mauna Loa. The combination of mineral-rich soil, afternoon cloud cover, and gentle trade winds produces one of the world’s most distinctive coffee terroirs.

To be labeled “100% Kona Coffee,” every bean must be grown within the Kona district and meet strict Hawai‘i grading quality standards. Kona coffee can be made from different arabica varieties, but Kona Typica — a heirloom lineage — remains the region’s most common and traditional cultivar.
