Tasting Notes

An organically grown Ethiopian espresso with lovely aroma. Lavender, caramel, milk chocolate and lime. The chocolate and caramel flavors bloom in milk drinks and mix with hints of blueberry, but it's equally impressive as an americano or straight shot.

Background Info

The Suke Quto washing station began as a forest conservation project and one man's mission to provide his community with a sustainable source of income.

After a devastating brush fire Tesfaye Bekele decided to help reforest the area by distributing Ethiopian heirloom coffee seedlings and shade trees to members of his community. Together they worked to replant the area, with hopes of growing and harvesting the coffee in an environmentally friendly way.

And today that's exactly what they do. Tesfaye pays the growers and harvesters a premium to bring only the ripest cherries to the Suke Quto washing station for processing. They do washed, natural, and honey process, which is a rare to find in Ethiopia.
